Risk Assessments

Safe-n-Sure offers a range of risk assessments to help you comply with the Health and Safety management regulations 1999 and various other directives, which require employers to carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments for every work process and location.

These risk assessments are working documents, which provide invaluable proof of legal compliance for local authorities, insurance companies and the HSE. Risk assessments can also be proactive, helping you to reduce accidents, litigation costs and time off work.

General Risk Assessments

General risk assessments are an important starting point for many operations within an organisation. By identifying the risks and hazards in performing a particular job or task, we can recommend further specific assessments required such as Young Worker and Manual Handling.

Young / Pregnant Worker Risk Assessments

Our health and safety advisers can assess the hazards and risks to new and expectant mothers and young workers in their work environments.

Manual Handling

Where your workers are involved in the moving or transporting of loads by hand or bodily force, Safe-n-Sure can provide a manual handling review and policy to demonstrate your compliance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.

In line with these regulations, our manual handling review and policy will highlight a range of measures taken by your company including avoidance, assessments and risk reduction.

Fire Risk Assessments

In accordance with the Fire Safety Directive companies of all sizes must carry out their own Fire Risk Assessment, which must record any significant findings and be available for inspection to the Fire Authority.

Our fire risk assessments involve a full assessment of your premises and work processes in relation to fire safety hazards. Our report will highlight the control measures required, whether these are in place and any recommendations to further minimise your fire risks. Our health and safety advisers can also recommend appropriate positioning of fire extinguishers, signage and evacuation equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

We can assess the need for PPE in your workplace and ensure compliance with your obligations under the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations.

We can help you ensure the correct equipment is selected and used for all areas of face, head, eye, ear, foot and body protection. We can also fit test respiratory protective equipment (RPE) to ensure safe usage.

Display Screen Equipment

We can provide health and safety advice to improve workstation usage for your employees and ensure your compliance with current DSE legislation.

Everyone who regularly uses Display Screen Equipment or a VDU in the workplace must ensure that their workstation is risk assessed to comply with European Health & Safety Regulations and the Display Screen Equipment Regulations (1992).

Safe-n-Sure can carry out these risk assessments on a regular basis or train up a member of your own staff to become an in-house DSE assessor.
